Syzygium paniculatum Magenta Cherry
Syzygium paniculatum Magenta Cherry
An evergreen shrub from the vast Myrtaceae (myrtle) family, originally from Australia. The leaves have a bronze color when blooming and later become leathery dark-green in an elliptic shape. In the summertime small and round cream-colored flowers appear on the plant They later turn into red ‘cherry-like’ fruits whom are edible and can be used for making jam. Drought and temperature tolerant, the Syzygium requires very little care. At ‘Namer Bayaar’ we grow Syzygium in shape of either a ball, a triple-ball or a pyramid. All in a uniform height of 30 cm and with pot diameter of 12 cm.
